Education

  • PhD, Computer Science (Computational Biology), UCLA, September 2021–December 2025. Thesis: Statistical and Computational Methods to Uncover the Genetic Architecture of Protein Function.
  • BS, Computer Science; BS, Computational and Systems Biology (Biological Data Science), UCLA, September 2018–June 2021. Summa cum laude.

Research Experience

  • Postdoctoral Researcher, Coyote-Maestas Lab, Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences, UCSF, December 2025–present.
  • Visiting Scholar, Coyote-Maestas Lab, UCSF, June 2024–December 2025.
  • Graduate Student Researcher, Pimentel Lab, David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, July 2021–September 2025.

My work combines experimental and computational methods to map protein sequence–function relationships, including deep mutational scanning, combinatorial mutagenesis, and statistical modeling. I study epistasis and functional diversification in human olfactory receptors, and genotype-dependent drug responses in membrane proteins such as CFTR.
